Briggs & Forrester (Special Projects) are delighted to have worked with Farrans Construction to complete a £1.1M mechanical and electrical installation for Pineham Barns, a new state-of-the-art primary school near Northampton. The school, designed by BSD, serves new housing developments south of Northampton.
The school is part of the Preston Hedge’s Multi Academy Trust, a local school network dedicated to key principles of ‘fun, creativity and achievement’. The Pineham Barns project is within the local LGSS Construction Framework, which aims to provide shared services to reduce costs through consolidation of resources, process redesign and exploitation of technology.
Briggs and Forrester carried out the installation of all mechanical and electrical services including natural gas and air source heat pump, air conditioning, emergency lighting, disabled WC/refuge, public address and fire alarm systems. The two storey building will feature classrooms, staff facilities, catering and storage facilities and school hall and studio. The new school will also serve as a community centre at the heart of Pineham.
The school opened its doors to its new students at the beginning of September.
