Briggs & Forrester Plumbing Apprentice bags Bronze medal at Worldskills finals

Dan Martins wins Bronze medal at WorldSkills Final 2017

Congratulations to Briggs & Forrester apprentice Dan Martins who won a Bronze medal in Plumbing and Heating at the WorldSkills final in Abu Dhabi last night.

Dan said: “I’m over the moon I never expected to get a medal, it’s more than I could ever have imagined. Thank you for all the support from the start, I’ve had so many people come out to Abu Dhabi and support me, I can’t thank them enough”.

Dan’s WorldSkills journey began more than two years ago, the competition process saw him compete in regional and national heats before the EuroSkills event in Sweden where he won a Medal of Excellence and secured his place in Team UK for the final.

Winning a Bronze medal at the WorldSkills 2017 finals recognises all the hard work and training that Dan has invested into his skill to become a highly accomplished plumber.

Overall Team UK bagged 1 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze and 13 medals of excellence, to finish 10th in the medals table out of more than 65 countries.
