Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services have secured their latest project in Wales with BAM Construct UK on the £22m Brecon High School in Powys.
BAM will replace the existing school with a new high specification building that will meet the needs of students in Brecon and surrounding communities. The school aims “to provide the very best facilities and accommodation to allow the current and future pupils of Brecon High School to achieve their very best academically, emotionally and socially.”
Mark Clark, Operations Manager commented: “The Cardiff office are delighted to be awarded the new Brecon High School project by BAM. The school is part of the Welsh Governments 21st Century Schools and Education Programme.
“This further demonstrates the quality and commitment of the Cardiff team in securing this prestigious project and are looking forward to the successful completion of the contract with BAM”.
Engineering Services will provide the full scope of mechanical, electrical and public health services to the 3-storey building which features classrooms, a dining and kitchen area, sports hall, fitness suite, main hall, library and staff spaces. Services include lighting, small power, plant and equipment, fire detection and alarms, lift services, gas distribution, ventilation and BEMS control system.
The Engineering Services Cardiff team will be working closely with the local supply chain, BAM, Hydrock and Scott Brown Rigg Architecture to deliver this project.
