Briggs and Forrester apprentice wins award at H&V News Awards 2017

H&V News Awards success for design apprentice

H&V News Award Apprentice of the Year for Briggs and Forrester

Congratulations to our apprentice Curtis Castledine who won the Apprentice of the Year (21 and Under) Award at the H&V News Awards 2017.

The awards were presented at a glittering ceremony at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel in London on April 20th.

Following an initial first round submission, Curtis had to present to a panel of judges in the second stage of the process.

Curtis is an Assistant Mechanical Design Engineer and began his career three years ago with Briggs and Forrester via the company’s apprenticeship programme.

The Briggs & Forrester programme lasts for four years and allows apprentices to experience various departments within the business, ultimately selecting their preferred option. Time is spent in design, quantity surveying, project management, commissioning, procurement and estimating.

Curtis said, “An apprenticeship for me has been invaluable. The teaching and guidance I have received from other engineers has been extremely beneficial in helping me to become the designer I am today. The apprenticeship scheme offered by Briggs and Forrester is very well recognised and my hands-on experience has comfortably prepared me to take my career forward into the future.”
