On Saturday 8th July, Susan Metcalf, Commercial Manager for Engineering Services, completed the 24 miles Jurassic Coast walk for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Jurassic Coast is England’s first natural World Heritage Site and is a challenging hike. She began in Weymouth and finished in Corfe Castle, completing the walk in just over 12 hours.
Susan said, “The steep hills and climbs along the Jurassic coast line were not only scenic but extremely challenging in places and over the 24 mile hike I struggled through the pain spurred on with the thoughts of my brave sisters battle with cancer and the treatment she underwent. In truth, the pain and blisters I sustained cleared up in a few days; my sister and many like her battling with cancer have to live with the consequences day in and day out. Therefore, I wish to thank all those who sponsored and supported me throughout my hike, it truly means an enormous amount”.
Susan has raised over £1000 for the charity!
