Briggs & Forrester Living are currently working with Multiplex on the new build Principal Place project in the heart of London.
The development consists of 3 buildings, a 50 storey residential tower, affordable apartments and a link building which will provide a flexible space.
Designed by architects Foster & Partners, Principal Tower features floor to ceiling windows with curved corners providing every apartment with a panoramic view. Standing just over 530 feet high, it will be one of the tallest buildings in London.
Living will design, verification, install and commissioning of the mechanical, electrical and public health services which include above ground drainage dry air cooler plant, general ventilation, sprinkler systems, BMS controls, HV and LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, access controls, CCTV and photovoltaics.
Living have utilised pre-fabricated modules on this project given its busy central London location. There was a strict two week window to manoeuvre the plant and pre-fabricated elements into the basement to ensure the project ran on time. Extensive BIM modelling of the services and structure, along with detailed planning of the installation sequence was required to ensure successful delivery with no disruption to the project programme.
The project is due for completion in December 2018.
