21st December 2015

ESOS - the Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme - is a set reporting requirement under European laws for businesses within the UK.
Controlled and monitored by the Environment Agency, ESOS affects all businesses with over 250 employees or an annual turnover of 50million Euros and a balance sheet of 43million Euros. The scheme means-investigates how much energy is used for that business for Transport, Process and Buildings, broken down into kW and Tonnes of CO2 per capita.

Teams from around the company had festive fun last week to get in the Christmas mood and raise funds for Text Santa.

This year has been a busy and successful period for the Briggs and Forrester Group, with turnover for 2014/15 of £160M. Turnover for 2015/2016 is forecast to reach £200M, and will represent a doubling of turnover over the past five years. Secured orders amount to 82% of the forecast and are supported by continued geographic expansion across the country.

We have recently secured our largest ever contract, One Blackfriars with St George, an iconic 170m tower in London with a value in excess of £30M.

A new report released this week by the Green Infrastructure Task Force for the Mayor of London reveals the city parks and green spaces will become part of an integrated green infrastructure network, as part of his strategy for a greener capital city.

Thank you to Brookfield, for the hospitality we received as their guests at the recent Winter Ball in aid of Sparks. It was a wonderful evening and a great opportunity to raise funds for the charity’s pioneering medical research for children.

The Independent survey of attitudes to infrastructure in Great Britain 2015, has revealed that a high percentage of the public would like infrastructure to be improved, and that they want more of a say, with 41% wanting more community engagement. On 20th December Briggs and Forrester Mechanical Supervisor Sean O’Reilly will step into the boxing ring for the first time, raising money for Cancer Research. Sean has been training for eight weeks prior to the big day, but has never been in a professional fight before! Good luck from everyone at Briggs & Forrester!

Briggs and Forrester were proud to sponsor the Overcoming Challenges award at a recent event at Northampton College.

Congratulations to Shannon Hall, an art and design student whose exceptional ceramic work was inspired by Grayson Perry. Shannon was among the 69 award winners at the annual awards ceremony which recognised the hard work of students across a range of areas.
