Following on from our recognition from Willmott Dixon earlier this year as their Supply Chain Partner of the Year, we are proud to have been given a second award from the company. We achieved a runner-up award for our training and development, highlighting our strong relationship and focus on working together.
Well done and congratulations to everyone involved.
It was a charged and competitive evening at the recent Briggs & Forrester intercompany karting event. Around 50 staff from all divisions of the group took part, but victory was sweet for the winners from the Engineering Services Estimating team, Over Measured Bends. Congratulations to Andy Lawton, Karl Jones, Phil Cassidy, Adam Burton and Pete Curtis (who had to miss his moment of fame in the winner’s podium photo!). Thanks to TriLux for their support on the night too.
Congratulations to Briggs and Forrester Group employee Dan Martins on his success at The Skills Show last week. Dan achieved a Highly Commended position in the Plumbing category, but has been selected to be part of Squad UK!
As part of Squad UK he will need to achieve a variety of category milestones and benchmarks in his training over the next two years, but he will also be in the running to be part of the Team that represents the UK at the WorldSkills event in Abu Dhabi in 2017!
We’d like to send congratulations to the Galliford Try team at the Wandsworth Riverside Quarter project on being awarded their company safety award for the 3rd Quarter 2015.

Congratulations to Briggs and Forrester apprentice Dan Martins for getting through to the WorldSkills UK SkillPLUMB final! Later this week he’ll discover if he’s won his competition and the opportunity to be selected to be in the UK team at the international finals in Abu Dhabi in 2017!
WorldSkills competitions motivate and inspire apprentices and young employees to push their technical and professional skills, and help to drive UK business and skill levels forward. The SkillPLUMB competition is designed to focus on competence and standards in the plumbing industry.

Since 2000, the charity has donated over £15.5m to youth charities and causes.
The Northern Ireland economy must attract more women into careers in engineering and technology, according to the employment minister.
Mencurrently outnumber women three to one in the sector and employers are facing serious skills shortages which impact on productivity and competitiveness.
Employment and Learning Minister Stephen Farry says that much work still needs to be done to promote gender diversity within these careers and industries.
Keen to further embrace prefabrication, Briggs and Forrester MEP have been working closely with supplier Wolseley UK, one of the top distributors of heating and plumbing products in the UK.
Prefabrication has benefits over traditional onsite processes in that it provides a safe, clean environment for the construction of plumbing and heating pipework and fittings. The team at Briggs and Forrester recently visited the Prefab Centre to see manufacture in progress.
