The Contracts Manager has responsibility of ensuring that their installation teams are complying with the company’s best interests and that regionally their schemes are being planned and executed to the agreed scope of works, compliant and to the highest standard whilst ensuring Briggs & Forrester’s internal procedures as laid out in the QMS system are being adhered to. The Role has responsibility for both production and commercial aspects of the Division. To promote the business and increase the turnover whilst maintaining profitability.

Promote a positive health and safety culture across all Projects.
Form close links with the client’s representatives and their teams at site level.
Implement the various Briggs & Forrester internal procedures as laid out in the QMS system.
Provide monthly labour forecasts for all Projects and share with the business.
Conduct periodic site audits for each project and share with the Operations team to improve standards, reduce risk, identify trends and give feedback.
The greatest risk to any project is uncertainty, therefore the Contracts Manager must maintain focus on this as their main concern as an attempt to reduce risk significantly through open communication with all Managers and fellow senior Management representatives, so all can voice their opinions and concerns.
Undertake the formal appraisal of the Supervisors, direct installers and apprentices.
Establish the Training requirements required in your teams and record to the Operations Manager and HR Manager for actioning once Director Approval has been given.
Develop apprentices to become high quality tradesman and retain within the business.
Record project periodic progress reports and in turn reports to the Operations Manager any emerging trends and concerns on their projects by suitable media.
Upon having reviewed the supervisor’s reviews highlight any key areas of concerns from their report and seek a resolution with the project team.
Oversee site stock management.
Monitor the Gas and Water compliance across all Projects.
Review the Subcontractor fortnightly Pay run and approve.
That the strict guidelines as set out in QMS documents for production management and commercial Management are being adhered to.
Assist Commercial with timely applications for payment by managing the Plot sign offs to aid cash flow.
Assist Commercial in attaining signed variations and dayworks sheets.
Assist Commercial in variation and final account meetings.
Drive and manage the maximisation of profit by maintaining commercial awareness.
