The Role: 
Reporting to the Chief Estimator this position will be based in our Northampton offices and is intended to provide support to our mechanical estimators with Design and Build tenders. These tenders are in the main for the provision of both mechanical and electrical services within the Education, Commercial office and Healthcare sectors and range in between £200K and £2M. The mechanical design provided to us at tender stage is frequently insufficient for us to generate a robust estimate and therefore the successful candidate will be capable of developing this basic design information into RIBA Stage 4 data (approximate) allowing our estimators the chance to develop a more cost competitive bid. Requirements and Duties of the role are as follows:- • Thorough understanding and knowledge of mechanical building services design including associated applicable regulations and legislation CBSIE/BSRIA/HTM’s. • Experience of AUTOCAD , BIM, Revit, COBie, Hevacomp, BREEAM, BRUKL, IES & TAS. • Development of base design information ensuring compliance with client requirements. • Mark-up tender drawings with pipe/duct sizes etc. to enable pricing by our mechanical estimators and by specialist subcontractors. • Plant selection and scheduling. • Preparation of Tender Proposal documentation with the estimators (CP’s). • Attending pre and post tender interviews with client/MC’s as a part of the estimating team. • Assisting with the internal handover of secured projects to the SP Contracts team. • Assisting the SP Project Manager to procure external consultants to take the design into the Construction Stage.
Maths, English Language, HND in Mechanical Services or Engineering. A good attention to detail, Articulate, Good communicator, competent with Excel, Word & E-mail, keen to learn, Works well under pressure, Good team player but must also work under their own initiative being self-motivated.
