Briggs & Forrester complete MEP package on new Manchester College City Campus

Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services have recently completed the MEP Services contract on the £54m Manchester College City Campus that forms part of their new city centre campus. The development is situated on the site of the former Boddington’s brewery, opposite Manchester Arena.

Working in collaboration with Willmott Dixon, Briggs & Forrester delivered the full design & build £11m MEP services contract, developed from initial Stage 4A designs by BDP. BIM Level 2 was utilised on the project in order to ensure collaborative working and information sharing. The building has achieved BREEEAM ‘Excellent’ standards by incorporating sustainable and energy efficient services.

The City Campus focuses on creative and digital industries, as well as UCEN Manchester’s Arden School of Theatre and Manchester Film School. Spanning 5 storey’s, the building consists of two cutting-edge theatres, film studios, media, computing and editing suites, plus recording and photography studios, dance studios and rehearsal rooms as well as teaching spaces for hospitality, media make-up and special effects.
