Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services awarded Principal Contractor works at Southmead Hospital

Acting as Principal Contractor, Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services have been awarded the NBT Decarbonisation ASHP project at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, for Client North Bristol NHS Trust.

The £5m project consists of the installation of air and water source heat pumps to replace steam heating systems for the Central Delivery Suite, Anti-Natal clinic, Percy Phillips building, Elgar House and NICU, together with new infrastructure including new HV substations, transformers and cabling, generator, LV substation, BEMS, etc.

Briggs & Forrester’s experience of working in live hospital environments will ensure the essential care units remain operational throughout and that patients continue to receive the highest level of care despite the ongoing works.

Briggs & Forrester will undertake builders works on the project including mechanical services trenching from ASHP compounds to plantrooms, plant room penetrations, external plant bases, trenching for the substation, HV and LV trenching, security and acoustic fencing.
