Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services complete Creative Centre at York St John’s University

Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services successfully completed the mechanical, electrical and public health services installation on the Creative Centre at York St John’s University in York.

The project, completed alongside Kier Construction, consisted of a major redevelopment to the existing campus with the demolition of three accommodation blocks and the construction of a new 3 floor building providing 2,600 m² of flexible teaching areas, a 170 seat auditorium and a 550 m² glass roofed atrium.

The building is the permanent home for the University’s music and computer science courses containing specialist spaces for theatre, drama, creative writing and media production students along with acoustically protected practice and performance rooms. It also offers a whole floor of purpose built teaching rooms featuring the latest high specification hardware for computer science, software engineering and games development.
