Briggs & Forrester handover St David’s & South Point primary schools in South Wales

Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services are delighted to have handed over the MEP services on the St. David’s and South Point Primary Schools in the Vale of Glamorgan for main contractor ISG.

The primary school projects are part of the Council’s 21st Century Schools programme, a long-term improvement scheme that will see £135 million invested to deliver top-class facilities and ultra-modern learning environments.

South Point Primary School is the first net-zero carbon school in Wales, greatly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, neutralising the school’s environmental impact. This project is a great example of Glamorgan Council leading the way for future net-zero carbon schools in Wales. The new build school will provide 210 school places and 48 part-time nursery places.

St David’s School, which is built on the existing school site, provided an additional 70 places increasing the capacity from 140 to 210. The two-storey development consists of classrooms, a hall for sport and dining, offices, a staffroom and breakout areas.
