Briggs & Forrester Special Projects completion works on Hanger 84 at Cranfield University
Briggs & Forrester Special Projects have recently completed the mechanical and electrical works of the first of two aircraft hangars being refurbished alongside R G Carter on behalf of Cranfield University.
The refurbishment will help improve the energy efficiency and carbon footprint of the hangars built in 1936 for preparation for WWII. They are now used by the University for research and maintenance purposes.
Our works include the installation of a Jet Flow Heating system, fire alarm, lightning protection, panel boards, lighting and small power. Already, this has enhanced their thermal performance and will reduce the heating demand of the hangars by 75%.
In the upcoming weeks, we look forward to beginning construction on the second hangar.
