In 2018, Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services were awarded the mechanical and electrical building services contract on the ambitious Llys Cadwyn development in Pontypridd, working in collaboration with Willmott Dixon.
On the 14th of February, the project team successfully handed over Building C of the development in line with the program and to the full satisfaction of both Willmott Dixon, the Main Contractor and the client, RCT.
Building C features a 21st Century library, Council customer contact point and a state-of-the-art fitness centre. The building is scheduled to fully-open to members of the public by April 2020.
Building B, Cat A fit out was handed over on the 23rd of March 2020 also in line with the program and to the full satisfaction of both Willmott Dixon, the Main Contractor and the client, RCT.
Works to the remaining building of the development (Building A) are well underway and is due to be handed over in July/August 2020.
South Wales Metro operator Transport for Wales will be based in building A. Approximately 300 staff members will be moving into the building during autumn 2020.The last building comprises of Grade-A office floor space and a food/drink unit.
Overall, the project will rejuvenate the local area and help to deliver substantial economic benefits that place Pontypridd as a strategically important town in the region.
