Last year, Briggs & Forrester Living were delighted to successfully complete the MEP works on the Park Hill student accommodation project in Sheffield.
Working in collaboration with main contractor Kier Group, Living were responsible for carrying out the MEP contract for the development, including services such as heating and cooling, external lighting, fire alarm and switchgear.
The modern apartments are linked by a common room, study centre and shops. Students have access to an on-site laundry room, cinema, gym, and garden. The building itself was a redevelopment of the former Park Hill estate which was originally built between 1957 and 1961. The estate is the largest listed building structure in Europe and a renowned Sheffield landmark.
The 7 storey development was refurbished to create 356 bed student accommodation offering a range of studios, 2 bedroom apartments and 4 and 8 bed clusters. The project was introduced with aim to increase the student accommodation provision in the east due to most students currently living in the west.
