The MD of Low Energy Consultancy Adam Alexander has presented to representatives of the Beijing Government on their visit to the UK.
Adam made a key note speech on UK Green Policy with existing building stocks to the China-Britain Business Council at an event hosted by the BRE.
In his presentation Adam spoke key factors effecting buildings in the UK including the carbon reduction committment (CRC) the climate change levy and the pressing importance of ESOS.
He went on to explain that in 2016 a tenant of a building will, for the first time, be able to request an EPC rating of the building they are in.
Adam told delegates from across Beijing and the UK construction industry that in the UK buildings contribute 37% of total UK greenhouse gas emissions.
