Works are progressing well on our project with Seddon at the new Rocester School in Staffordshire. We’ve been onsite for about four weeks and ductwork and sprinkler works are currently being installed, and the electrical contractor has commenced on site working along the ground floor corridor. As you can see from the photo the external plant room is coming along nicely too!

Congratulations to some of our team at the Project Angel site in Northampton. Martin Robinson, Matt Stirling, Dan Martins & Ryan Jordan have recently been recognised by Galliford Try for identifying health & safety compliance requirements. With the new Phipps Brewery just round the corner from the site the lads were rewarded with some samples of Northampton’s real ale brewing heritage – ready to enjoy after work!
Our MEP division has secured the contract to provide the installation of mechanical, electrical and public health services for Principal Tower, part of the Principal Place development, from main contractor Brookfield Multiplex.
Principal Place is a landmark, mixed-use development on the Shoreditch/City of London border comprising offices, luxury residential flats and retail space.
The Briggs and Forrester Group has been doubly successful in the 60th year of the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2016.
The Group achieved a Gold Medal award for the fifth consecutive occasion and the Group division Briggs and Forrester Engineering Services achieved the President’s Award, following 13 consecutive Gold Awards. The prestigious annual scheme is run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The awards will be presented at a ceremony at Excel London on 21st June 2016.
Briggs and Forrester is working with Willmott Dixon to create new state of the art bioscience facilities in Nottingham city centre. The 50,000sqft five-storey building will be fitted with biology and chemistry laboratories and ancillary space for commercial leasing to both start-up and existing, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the bioscience sector. Briggs & Forrester is providing full building services installation including ventilation, fume extract, air-conditioning, lab gases, lighting, small power, security and access control.
Exciting times for our sister company, maintenance provider Combined Energy Solutions. Not only have they been awarded a new contract to support 24/7 maintenance for a prestigious scientific company in Cambridge, they have also had further success with two longer term clients.
Mental health remains a challenging topic and the development of new support services is key to providing better quality of care. Briggs and Forrester is currently working with Kier Construction on a project in Leigh, Greater Manchester for a new mental health hospital. Briggs & Forrester MEP Ltd is pleased to announce that it has secured the contract to provide the installation of mechanical, electrical and public health services for Meridian & Nautical Houses, Battersea Reach, by St George South London.
Briggs and Forrester has recently been M&E Consultant for the University of Cambridge’s first university training primary school.
This Willmott Dixon project, part of the ongoing development of the North West Cambridge area, features a unique circular one storey building with diverse learning spaces. There are easy to control ventilation systems and heating systems that help to generate circulation, aiding those with breathing problems such as asthma.
Congratulations to Kevin Mason from Briggs and Forrester MEP division for completing the Warwick Half Marathon on April 3rd.
Kevin ran this, his first half marathon, in 1h:46m:40s and raised the fantatsic total £830 for the British Heart Foundation. As Kevin said afterwards, "I was certainly thinking of the donations when climbing the last hill at 18km!"
