Briggs and Forrester Exeter

We're excited to announce further expansion, with two new offices in Exeter and Petersfield, Hampshire.

These new offices will provide opportunities for potential business growth across the South and South West of the UK. The Exeter office opened in June and will focus on Devon, Cornwall and Dorset. The Petersfield office, which will cover the areas around Southampton and Portsmouth, is due to open in August.

Wandsworth Riverside CCS audit

Well done to our MEP team at our residential development project at Riverside, Wandsworth. As members of the Considerate Constructors Scheme the team are audited to ensure they are complying with the aims and principles of the scheme – in the latest visit they passed with flying colours!

The focus of the CCS is to look at how a member cares about the appearance of their team and the site, respects the community, protects the environment, secures everyone’s safety and values their workforce.

Brookfield Multiplex football fundraising Willow Chickenshed

A team from Briggs & Forrester recently took part in a 7-a-side football tournament organised by contractor Brookfield Multiplex.

Our team may not have made the finals but we are very proud to have been involved in helping to raise £40K for the charities Willow and Chickenshed.

Kelly Moss trainee silver medal Tae Kwon Do European Championships

Congratulations to Special Projects Tech Trainee Kelly Moss on achieving a silver medal in the senior ladies 64-70kg sparring at the International Tae Kwon-Do Federation Open European Championships in Poland.

Kelly said afterwards, “The overall experience was incredible and the support from the squad, friends and family and everyone at Briggs & Forrester has been overwhelming.  

I am very appreciative to have been given the opportunity and thankful to Briggs & Forrester for their ongoing support and for helping to make it happen."

Atherleigh Park, Manchester, health and safety, mental health hospital

Briggs and Forrester is currently working with Kier Construction on a project in Leigh, Greater Manchester for a new mental health hospital, Atherleigh Park.

Recently Kier’s Health and Safety Teams visited the site as part of their Safety Week tour. At these sessions relevant suppliers demonstrate new and innovative safety systems and equipment to the on-site teams. The Kier team carry out presentations on new legislation, targeted safety campaigns and provide advice and information.

RoSPA Health and Safety award winners

Congratulations to everyone in the Briggs and Forrester Group, but particularly to our Health & Safety Team. They received Briggs and Forrester’s 2016 RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Awards at a gala event in London on Tuesday. Our Group achieved a Gold Medal for the fifth consecutive occasion and the division Engineering Services achieved the President’s Award, following 13 consecutive Gold Awards.

Clay pigeon shoot Catton Hall with Kier

A great time was had by all at a joint Briggs & Forrester & Kier healthcare teams clay pigeon shoot event last week. The weather could have been a little more summery, but it failed to dampen the spirits of all involved!  

Held at Catton Hall, Cheshire, teams were made up from the various companies involved in the recent project at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry; thank you to Kier, Effective Air Solutions Ltd, Starkstrom and Steven A Hunt & Associates.

Cystic Fibrosis Trust 100-mile cycle ride Briggs and Forrester

Congratulations to the team of 23 cyclists from Briggs and Forrester and our clients who pedalled over 100 miles in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust on June 9th.

Management buy out Briggs and Forrester Mike Stanton

The 23-person Management Team at the Briggs and Forrester Group have increased their equity stake in the business to 60% following a Management Buyout that was completed on 10 June 2016, supported by funding provided by Barclays Bank Plc.

This follows the Group’s long term strategy of remaining an owner-managed business which commenced with the partial management buyout completed in 2006, where the management team acquired 20% equity in the business.

Dragon Boat event Berkley Foundation

Congrats to the 10-man team from Briggs and Forrester MEP who were victorious yesterday in a Dragon Boat race event in Hackney, organised by The Berkeley Foundation.  Up against 28 other teams from across the industry, our gents battled through several heats to make it to the final, before toasting their success in the traditional way!

The aim of the Berkeley Foundation, part of The Berkeley Group, is to help young people and their communities across London and the South, focusing on homes, jobs, skills and care.
