Cranfield, AIRC, topping out

A year after the initial ground-breaking, the new Aerospace Integration Research Centre at Cranfield University was ‘topped out’ last week in a ceremony marking the highest point of the build being reached.

Briggs and Forrester is designing and delivering the mechanical and electrical installation for the project, working with RG Carter. Due for completion in December 2016, the centre will provide students and staff with state-of-the-art facilities for engineer design, simulation and visualisation.

The team at our new Exeter office enjoyed the opportunity to mix and mingle with local businesses recently at a gala sporting themed event in Truro, Cornwall. It was a perfect way to develop our company visibility in the region. Thank you to our guests from SDS Engineering Consultants and Acorn Blue property developers for a great evening.

And it was an ideal opportunity for a photo with football legend, and event speaker, Harry Redknapp!

On 29th July Matthew Raybould, Operations Director at Willmott Dixon, was our ‘slave for the day’ at the Northampton office.

The Directors at Willmott Dixon were recently challenged by their COO John Waterman to raise as much money as possible for the charity Shelter in seven hours, in an Apprentice-style challenge.

Matthew volunteered his time as a 'slave for a day' as a prize through a fundraising auction and Briggs & Forrester was one of the successful bidding companies!

Family Fun Day, Briggs and Forrester, Special Projects

Our recent Family Fun Day went down very well with the teams from our Special Projects and Central Services divisions. The skies may have been a little grey but there was nothing dull about the classic events that employees and their families enjoyed – from welly wanging, to the sack race, to egg and spoon, to skipping, to the tug-of-war finale!

All proceeds from the day will be going to The Brain Tumour Charity.

Thank you to all our helpers and to the Northampton Casuals Rugby Club as an ideal venue.
