Principal Contractor works on University of Oxford completed by Special Projects

Acting as Principal Contractor, Briggs & Forrester Special Projects have successfully completed the hydraulic separation project on ten boiler houses at the University of Oxford.

The £1.3m project consisted of the hydraulic separation from the district heating system which is served by boilers located in boiler house 1 and 2. All works at the university were completed under live environment conditions due to being an occupied campus.

The works included the removal and modification of the existing pipework to allow the installation of 14 local plate heat exchangers, 29 pump sets, 17 pressurisation units, 39 expansion vessels, 10 de-gassers, a mixture of new and upgraded BMS panels, new pipework and isolating valves, all then tested and commissioned in line with the client’s requirements.
