New build acute adult inpatient accommodation for mental heath facility
The brief
The project provided acute adult inpatient accommodation for up to 48 patients. The new facility has separate male and female accommodation with individual en-suites which they were not able to offer at the previous site.
Phase 2 saw the creation of 42 en-suite rooms for those being cared for by the Later Life and Memory Service (LLAMS). This is an increase in both the quality and number of beds available at Leigh Infirmary, where the Trust currently cares for patients.
The site includes facilities to promote physical health and wellbeing, communal areas, a cafe, landscaped gardens and a nature trail. Procured and delivered under P21+ NEC3 – Option C form of contract.
Services include LV distribution, power, lighting, security, PA system, nurse/panic alarm, telephone & TV systems, data/LAN, lightning protection, fire alarms, CCTV and comfort cooling.

What we did for this project...
We have a fully integrated design and build capability across the group, including 3D coordination and Building Information Modelling. By developing the design and being fully involved in the early stages of a project, we can provide timely design solutions and verification.
The group provides a range of specialist skills encompassing engineering, design, installation, and maintenance. The combined experience, knowledge and expertise of all five divisions enables the group to develop and implement fully-integrated solutions for some of the most complex and demanding mechanical, electrical and public health engineering installations.
We guarantee a smooth handover transition with the project team remaining the main point of contact, the development of commissioning and training plan and regular visits from our team in the months after practical completion.
