New state of the art innovative research facility
The brief
Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services installed the MEP services on the 12,500m2 London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS) building located at Hammersmith Hospital in White City.
The new nine storey state of the art innovative research facility houses CAT II highly specialist laboratories, sophisticated imaging equipment, write up spaces, support facilities and public engagement spaces including a 120 person seminar room and café for the Medical Research Council.
The facilities are constructed around a visually impressive feature staircase and an atrium which run the full height of the building. Due to the strict criteria the building in particularly the laboratories must meet, Briggs & Forrester worked closely with consultant Buro Happold to develop solutions for multiple factors including vibrations, fume exhausts, generator emissions and acoustics.

What we did for this project...
We have a fully integrated design and build capability across the group, including 3D coordination and Building Information Modelling. By developing the design and being fully involved in the early stages of a project, we can provide timely design solutions and verification.
The group provides a range of specialist skills encompassing engineering, design, installation, and maintenance. The combined experience, knowledge and expertise of all five divisions enables the group to develop and implement fully-integrated solutions for some of the most complex and demanding mechanical, electrical and public health engineering installations.
We guarantee a smooth handover transition with the project team remaining the main point of contact, the development of commissioning and training plan and regular visits from our team in the months after practical completion.
