The brief

Client – The Automation Partnership

Contract Period – 12 months

Sector – Science and Technology

Sartorius Stedim, otherwise known as The Automation Partnership, makes robotic drug-discovery equipment at its 51,000 sq ft plant based in Royston, Hertfordshire, for clients such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pfizer and DuPont. The market for its machines, which sell for between £500,000 and £10m, is driven by the need of pharmaceutical companies to cut the time and cost of drug development.

BSM provide a mobile and reactive team to undertake all aspects of planned, reactive and statutory compliance maintenance including the management and control of all associated specialist subcontractors. Due to the nature of the building’s operations and site specifications, most of the maintenance works are completed out of hours to ensure that maintenance checks are completed to SFG20 standard whilst being unobtrusive to operations.
