The Role: 
Briggs & Forrester has established itself as a leading player in the building services market providing a range of engineering design, consulting, installation and maintenance services to the construction industry. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Group Accounts Assistant based at our head office in Northampton. You will work alongside the Assistant Accountant to ensure completion of data entry and adjustment in preparation towards the completion of the audited statutory accounts. Responsibilities include: • Management of 9 subsidiary cashbooks including inputting all inflows and outflows of cash and preparing the monthly bank reconciliations. • Inputting the Group’s overhead purchase invoices across 9 purchase ledgers, arranging their authorisation and payment by fortnightly payment run on each trading company • Journals aiding toward preparation of the monthly internal Group Management accounts including non-current asset management (disposals, depreciation, additions, IT equipment distribution, prepayments and accruals) • Employee expenses analysis entry • Timesheet entry for Group health and safety team on a monthly basis • Producing monthly overhead reports to managers on some overhead pools • Handling phone calls from suppliers requesting payment on the overhead purchase invoices • Filing of paperwork subsequent to all the above
Requirements: 
• At least 2-3 years accounting experience preferably in a similar trade environment • Advanced excel skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organisational skills • Preferably AAT qualified or similar level In addition you should have strong time management skills, excellent attention to detail, highly developed analytical skills and thrive in a team environment.
