Briggs & Forrester Group Announces Leadership Transition for 2027

Briggs & Forrester Group has unveiled a series of leadership appointments that will take effect from 1 January 2027 as part of the planned evolution of the Group’s executive structure.

As the Group enters its 80th year of operations, Paul Burton has confirmed he will step down from his role as Group Chief Executive Officer while continuing as Chairman of the Group.

Paul will be succeeded by Duncan Benedetti, who has spent two decades with Briggs & Forrester Group and currently serves as Managing Director of the Living business and a member of the Group Board. In his new role as Group CEO, Duncan will take overall responsibility for the operational performance and strategic direction of the Group.

Commenting on the appointment, Paul Burton said:

“Duncan has been an integral part of the business for 20 years, consistently demonstrating strong leadership and delivering outstanding results. I am confident he will lead the Group to continued success as we enter our next chapter.”

Duncan Benedetti added: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the Briggs & Forrester Group into its 80th year as CEO. We have a strong foundation, built on the expertise and commitment of our people, trusted client relationships and a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical installations.

Looking ahead, there are significant opportunities for growth across the UK and to strengthen our client partnerships by building on the capabilities that already set us apart. I look forward to working with colleagues across our operating companies to realise that potential and shape a successful and sustainable future together.”

The leadership transition creates an opportunity within the Living business, with current Operations Director Matthew Orme being promoted to Managing Director. Matthew will assume responsibility for leading the Living business, bringing fresh perspectives and continued momentum to the Living Board.

The appointments will become formally effective on 1 January 2027, with the transition process commencing immediately to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities across the Group. These appointments reinforce Briggs & Forrester Group’s commitment to developing internal talent, ensuring leadership continuity, and positioning the business for long-term sustainable growth.
